Hate and Discrimination Among Covid Victims

Fear and anxiety about the coronavirus is real. But there is no excuses in pointing fingers on some people or group of people. As the spread of the virus it is not linked in any race or nationality.

Blaming someone for the cause of the virus is not good to other people. Ot may live a traumatic effects to them and it doesn’t make you safe from getting the virus. They suffer mentally, and will make a more chaotic effects when we let bad, fake and incomplete datas contaminate our beliefs and actions.

No one wants to suffer any longer on this pandemic as it changed many things and aspects in our daily lives many things are affected some of it is the country’s economy, many businesses closed, most of the students are now home schooled, and many people find hard time to work. Instead of blaming, hating and discrimination, we should all work and be united to put an end this pandemic.

• Speak up when you see someone is treated poorly.

Know that many of us will catch COVID-19, regardless of our race, gender,age, and religion.

Be kind treat everyone equally.

CYBER BULLYING

Sending or posting inappropriate things in the internet is a form of bullying. Especially if it’s about to a certain group or race of people who are victims of COVID-19. This will result to someone’s depression and eventually death.

HATE CRIMES

This is different from hate speech but this is the root or cause of hate crimes, where hateful speech exchange eventually end up in a large scale of violence against the COVID victims.

MASK WEARING IS A RISK FACTOR FOR DISCRIMINATION

People who are victims of COVID-19 are more threatened after they got out of quarantine facility. This includes not only the victims but also the people or front liners who worked in the facility. Heavy work loads associated with COVID-19 related discrimination is particularly pertinent during this pandemic.

PUBLIC EFFORTS

People who share social characteristics with COVID-19 patients, but do not carry the viruses are also a target for discrimination. Even one member of the family or siblings is a victim of COVID-19, the rest of the members will also be a target. They cannot get out of the belief that they may also be a carrier of the virus. This could lead to stigma, which causes troubles in the community to respond faster.
